Yet, less than two months later, his head has been turned and a deal will likely be completed at some point next week. One of the primary factors behind his switch will certainly be Chelsea’s new boss Enzo Maresca who was announced as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement some weeks ago. Last season at the King Power Stadium under Maresca, Dewsbury-Hall scored 12 goals and recorded 15 assists in 49 appearances. He is set to join up with his former boss once more.

Throughout his career, the b0x-to-box midfielder has proven he has a knack for scoring goals and creating chances for teammates. During his time at Luton Town, Dewsbury-Hall bagged three goals and registered six assists for the Hatters in the Championship.

There was interest over the past few months from a number of teams in the Premier League. Liverpool were reportedly keen to acquire Dewsbury-Hall this summer as well as Brighton and Hove Albion, but he now looks to be joining Chelsea within the coming days. John Percy in The Telegraph has revealed that Brighton are frustrated after the midfielder passed his medical with the Seagulls earlier this week.

Dewsbury-Hall showcased from his time on loan at the likes of Luton Town and Blackpool that he had the potential to play at the highest level of English football. While he did feature plenty for Leicester in the Premier League, Chelsea is a different animal and it will be interesting to see how he does under Maresca’s reign once more.
