Leicester City defender Victor Kristiansen is set to undergo a medical, ahead of a move to Italian side Bologna this summer according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 20-year-old joined the Foxes in January for €14,000,000 from Denmark, but following the club’s relegation, he is set to depart after just eight months and move to Italy.
Who is Victor Kristiansen?
The full-back was a product of the FC Copenhagen youth setup, before breakifn into the first-team fold in 2021. The defender has made over 100 first-team appearances throughout his career, contributing to 14 goals before becoming the joint-record departure in the Danish Superliga.
Upon joining the Foxes, Kristiansen got ahead of Bobby Thomas and Ryan Bertrand to become the number one in the left-back position. He’s made 12 Premier League appearances at the King Power Stadium.
The perfect start
Leicester City are the only side in the Championship that has a 100% record after their opening four league games. They also sit two points ahead at the top of the league table.
The Foxes came from behind to beat Coventry, before picking up wins against Huddersfield, Cardiff City and Rotherham United, proving that despite losing Harvey Barnes and James Maddison, the club can still pick up wins in a new era for the side.
What’s been said?
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Kristiansen is set to undergo a medical with Bologna on Monday ahead of a loan switch, with the Italian side also possessing the option to make the deal permanent, with the left-back signing a four-year deal.
Kristiansen hasn’t featured for Leicester City this season and therefore his departure cannot be seen as a surprise to the Foxes and he will become the latest player to leave after their relegation.
He has fallen behind Manchester City loanee Callum Doyle in the pecking order at the King Power Stadium and for the Foxes, it’s another high earner off the wage bill.
