Millwall are closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal U21s defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy on a season-long loan deal, according to journalist Richard Cawley.
The England youth international spent the second half of last season with fellow Championship side Coventry City as they reached the division’s play-off final, before ending in heartbreaking fashion.
Who is Brooke Norton-Cuffy?
The 19-year-old is a product of the Arsenal academy, as well as starring in both EFL loans and on the international stage. He has enjoyed spells with both Lincoln City and Rotherham United, before joining Coventry in January.
Despite a slow start at the CBS Arena, Norton-Cuffy began to excel with the Skyblues. He made 24 appearances in total for the club, starring in the club’s defeat to Luton Town in the play-off final.
A frustrating start
Millwall will host Stoke City this weekend in the hope of gaining their first home win of the campaign. They began with an away win against Middlesbrough, but have since lost three on the bounce, scoring once and conceding eight.
The side lost 4-0 to League One side Reading in the EFL Cup, before losing 1-0 to Bristol City and 3-1 to Norwich City last weekend. The side head into the weekend in 16th place.

Writer’s View
As a Skyblues fan, I’m not surprised to see Norton-Cuffy returning to the Championship this season. He had a great spell with Coventry but it was clear that he still had some more work to do in order to improve his development.
Millwall are very likely to give him the right level of game time and he will also have the ability to remain in London. I personally believe this is an excellent signing for Gary Rowett’s men.
